News for This Week!

Oh my goodness, between sick kids, delays, and snow days, I haven't posted this news in awhile! My sincere apologies to you. Here are some very important things you should know:

• We will be having our Valentine's Day on Friday, February 14th, at 1:00. Please come if you'd like to! Mrs. Klinefelter may be calling you to ask you to help with that if you can. Also, at the end of this post is a list of students in our class (we have 22).
• Next week we will be completing our CogAt tests. These are fairly quick, pencil-and-paper tests used by the corporation to determine students that are high-achieving and what we can do to help them.
• You will find a report for the most recent NWEA scores. Look for growth from first grade to now. Please let me know if you have questions about them--they can be very difficult to understand!
• We will not have school on Monday, February 17th in honor of Presidents Day.
•  Please remember to read 20 minutes (or more) each night. Make it part of your routine, just like brushing your teeth!
• Spelling words are coming home today (FINALLY!). I haven't sent them for several weeks because we practice the patterns during our word study time and it's not really fair for me to ask students to take a test on them when we haven't had our daily word study time. Please remember to learn the PATTERNS/RULES rather than just the words. They'll be familiar with many more words if they learn the pattterns!
• If you'd like to send more snacks, we'd love it!
