Slice Of Life: Mrs. Overman

Our son Ian (left) spends his days playing with his best friend, Emma (right), who is the daughter of our school's music teacher.

Those two are inseparable. I have yet to see him love any other of his friends or cousins like he loves Emma.

Every day when I pick him up after school, I ask, "So what did you and Emma play today?"

"Superheroes, Mom," he says. "I was green and Emma was red."

I always say, "Did you have fun?"

To which he always replies, "Yes!"

Since I have to work (even though I LOVE my job), I'm glad he gets to stay at Emma's house where he's so happy. That's one thing he doesn't have at our house: a best buddy just his age.

  1. SUPERHEROS! Very cute. (Although I think you've mixed up right and left in identifying the kids!)
